Beach Party!

We rescheduled the Beach Party! It will be held on August 19! We decided to make it an even bigger event than originally planned! We will be taking pictures of the residents with bathing suit cutouts, plus all the other fun things we had planned!

What is your favorite topping? We will be making Ice Cream Sundaes on August 13! It is always so much fun to create a delicious treat! It is fun to see all the different combinations! One thing that stays the same is the whipped cream with a cherry on top!

The Senior Expo will be held on Thursday, August 21 at St. Mary’s Parish Hall. The time will be from 10am until 1pm. Your local Representatives will be there. They have many informational items and lots of giveaways! Door prizes are given throughout the day! (If you have some return address labels, it makes it so much easier to enter.) This Expo is held for Senior Citizens and it is definitely worth attending! Stop at our table and say hello!

The term “Dog Days” or the “Dog Days of Summer” refers to the hottest most sultry days of Summer!

Lightning Bugs!!!

Have you ever wondered about the small, blinking creatures that light up the Summer ights? Lightning bugs, also called fireflies, are not simply bugs and are not flies. They are beetles and there are about 136 different species of fireflies illuminating Earth’s Summer nights! Although other insects can produce light, fireflies are the only insects that can flash their light on and off in distinct signals. Just seeing Lightning Bugs takes me back to those warm Summer nights when I was growing up! I can remember running around in the backyard with my empty mason jar, trying to catch the flashing lights all around me. Lightning bugs are as much a part of Summer as Fireworks, fresh tomatoes and big slabs of juicy watermelon. Sometimes I wonder if God created lightning bugs just to make us smile!

To be cared about is a gift, to be cared for is a great blessing
